Fraternity is the conscious belief that we are all children of one Father and entails sympathy, a fraternal impulse to share the negative or joyful moments of others (Rom 12:15-16). It requires admiration as ecstatic contemplation, a feeling of profound esteem involving people emotionally and reminding them of their own creature’s condition. It involves a celebratory communion, a celebration, indeed a solemnity, a celebration of God’s infinite goodness in communion with everything He has created (LS11).
